Confidence is key, especially when you’re around influential figures. In this case, a Foodpanda rider jokingly asked for money from an “uncle” he randomly bumped into in KL, and unexpectedly his prank back fired!

On his TikTok @emy_chachacha, the rider was headed to a beverage shop before he met an “uncle” who he said looked familiar.

“I know I’ve seen him somewhere but I just can’t recall. Do you know who is this uncle?” Emy said.

Emy is known for content where he’s usually seen mingling with random people in a friendly manner and this time for his content he jokingly asked to borrow RM100 for a “random uncle”. To Emy’s surprise, the stranger said yes!

Emy may had trouble recalling the “uncle” but Malaysians can definitely recognise the man at first glance.

Lo and behold, Tan Sri Vincent Tan, Malaysia’s millionaire and founder of Berjaya Group himself!

Emy thanked the kind “uncle” for the money before proceeding to buy more drinks from the store he entered.

Before recognising the Malaysian businessman, Emy even confidently (and joyously) performed a dance beside Tan Sri Vincent Tan while being watched by the business tycoon, who smiled and clapped at Emy’s dancing.

Emy only knew about the identity of the “uncle” after netizens pointed it out.

“He hangs out with Tan Sri Vincent Tan as if he’s an old friend from school.”

“He really asked to borrow RM100 from Vincent Tan.”

“Did you just dance and move your body in front of Vincent Tan?”

In a viral post shared by famous preacher Ebit Lew, he tells the story of how he met a 23-year-old single mother who is also an orphan.

“I met Emy, a 23-year-old orphan and a single mother in the Kerinchi, Lembah Pantai area. She works as a FoodPanda walker and a part-time worker at a restaurant.”

“She has also separated from her husband,” he added.

Ebit Lew mentions that he was very touched when he saw how hard the young woman was working. When he approached her to talk to her, she was elated.

“I’ve always wanted to meet you, everyday I see you helping others and today Allah led you here. I always prayed to meet you and now that I did, I am thankful.”

In addition to that, the preacher also gave her a motorcycle which will allow her to pick up more jobs in the same amount of time.

The single mother was in tears when she received the motorcycle as she was saving up for one.

“I never expected to receive this, I was saving up for a motor so I can work more.”

Many netizens were very inspired by the young woman’s drive to make ends meet.

“How pitiful, she is also a single mother.”

“You’re beautiful and I hope that everything goes right for you when you take care and educate your child. I hope that you find a wonderful man who is responsible and will accept you and your child.”

Sometimes, when people get into accidents, they lose their ability to think and randomly start attacking another person who they think is at fault.

In a video that has been shared on different social media platforms and Facebook pages, a Malaysian uncle is seen trying to attack a food delivery rider after falling from his motor after an accident.

In the 25-second video originally shared by Yu KH on Facebook, we can see some cars and motors waiting for the traffic light to turn green at a junction.

Just as the lights turned green, the vehicles started moving. On the left-most lane that can be used to go straight or turn, a Food Panda rider took a right turn to get to the other road.

However, an uncle who wanted to go straight was caught off-guard by the rider and ultimately, fell onto the road face-first.

As the rider had gone past, another rider went to have a look at the uncle first, before the initial rider returned to check on the man.

Out of nowhere, the uncle suddenly stood up and attempted to punch the Food Panda rider who managed to expertly avoid it.

According to Yu KH, the CCTV footage was taken on September 21 at the Persimpangan Berek 12, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

“The food delivery rider was in the right.”

Many netizens could not brain the actions of the uncle as he was the one who was in the wrong but still chose to use violence.

“The Foodpanda rider was in the right. If the uncle wants to go straight then he should’ve been on the other side,” said a user.

Another commented, “The Foodpanda rider is so kind. The uncle should have been nearer to the centre.”

“I respect this Foodpanda rider. Even though he is not in the wrong, he came back to check on the uncle. Don’t punch him, discuss it,” commented another.

Meanwhile, some netizens encouraged the rider to lodge a police report against the uncle for trying to assault him.

“This rider can make a police report. There is video evidence,” said one user.

Another said, “Make a report. It’s his fault and yet he puts the blame on the Foodpanda rider.”

Road users along Jalan Bangsar were faced with a hurdle after a massive tree fell, causing traffic congestion. The situation however was handled expertly by considerate Grab and Foodpanda delivery riders along the way, who were later joined by several motorcyclists.

A fellow resident living in a condominium nearby Jalan Bangsar managed to snap a picture of the incident and shared it with WORLD OF BUZZ. Thejas Grithar Nair said he wasn’t exactly too sure how or why the tree fell. He added that there was a huge storm previously and assumed that it was probably the cause of the incident.

According to Thejas, he said the motorcyclists and delivery men took about 20 minutes to move the fallen tree onto the side of the road. The path was then efficiently cleared off for the oncoming vehicles.

“Luckily no one was left injured or cars were left damaged by the incident,” said Thejas. He said the act showed great unity and cooperation amongst Malaysians, who worked together and helped overcome an obstacle.

Recently, in a viral photo shared by a netizen showed an elderly woman who was seen sitting alone at a restaurant in Bandar Sunway, and from the looks of it, she seemed to be working for FoodPanda due to the uniform she was wearing.

The photo was taken by Tiffany Chang who saw the woman waiting at Rock Cafe for a delivery order to be ready. The woman had a FoodPanda bag on her lap while she sat there hunched over her phone.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the elderly woman with grey hair and glasses was seen observing standard operating procedures and taking preventive measures, like wearing a mask and gloves, and even covering her phone with plastic to maintain good hygiene.

The post was uploaded on 27 November, but soon went viral with over 4,200 shares and over 3,200 likes.

Netizens expressed their amazement at the woman, who still strived to work in her old age.

Wanting to do more good, Ebit Liew donated five foldable bicycles to five brothers who wanted to help their sister delivering food on foot.

Realising the need to help them, he donated the bicycles to ease their burden. Sharing his endeavour on Facebook, here are pictures of the famed philanthropist handing out much-needed help.

“I was able to donate five foldable bicycles to a family of five who were FoodPanda delivery employees. They previously delivered food on foot, making from RM100 to RM300 a week. They are all good children and one of them is a single parent.”

“I was touched when I heard about their family history and shared that they did not have a car or motorcycle licenses and did not have enough money to buy bicycles – so they delivered food on foot.”

Sharing their family story of trying to make ends meet, the best story that he shared was the fact that the kids were still able to provide their mother much need money.

A few days ago, we reported about Nur Athirah Abdul Latiff, a food delivery rider whose motorbike got stolen in Batu Caves, Selangor. The fate that befell Nur Athirah has caught the attention of citizens and they also helped spread information about the loss of the motorcycle.

Her story reached the DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, who felt very sad about the fate of Nur Athirah and agreed to present a personal contribution; a new motorcycle.

According to the Selangor Royal Office on Facebook, the donation was presented by the Police Escort (ADC) of DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Inspector Noor Hidayu Aziz. The statement of the page wrote,

“DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin agreed to present a personal donation in the form of a motorcycle to sister Nur Athirah Abdul Latiff who had just had an accident when her motorcycle was stolen while doing food delivery work in Batu Caves, Selangor. She felt very sad and overwhelmed when she read the viral news about the unfortunate fate of Nur Athirah. DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin hopes that with this contribution, Nur Athirah will be able to return to her daily work perfectly and help her family.”

DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin also mentioned that at a time when we are all being tested, she really hopes that the community out there is more humane and considerate of each other.

A woman who works as a Foodpanda delivery rider was heartbroken after her motorcycle that she used to make a living was stolen while she was on duty in Batu Caves, Gombak yesterday (4 November).

According to Harian Metro, the incident took place at 2pm when the woman had parked her motorcycle in the area and went to deliver food to customers. However, upon returning to the parking lot, she found that her Yamaha 135LC motorcycle was missing.

Gombak District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Arifai Tarawe said his department received a report about the missing motorcycle at about 3pm.

“Police are currently tracking down witnesses and examining closed circuit television (CCTV) footage at the scene to identify the suspect,” he said.

“Further investigation into the incident is being carried out in accordance with Section 379A of the Penal Code.”

A Facebook page mentions that the incident happened at Giant Batu Caves where two men had stolen the bike with the number plate, BQF 2182.

Photos of the victim in distraught after finding out her motorcycle was missing was also shared and have been circulating on social media with many netizens spreading the photos on their own social media platforms in hopes of finding the suspect who stole the bike.

If you have seen a blue motorcycle with the number plate BQF 2182, please report to the police immediately. The suspects would probably have taken off the Foodpanda delivery bag to make it harder to spot.

Ever since a post featuring this Encik Panda on Twitter went viral, netizens have been impressed by his dedication and enthusiasm for his job. Many found him and his panda plushies adorable and some even posted their own encounter with him under the comments.

During the movement control order (MCO) period, we’ve seen countless stories of generous Malaysians who have been kind to their food riders by ordering food and asking them to keep it for themselves and their families. But seldom do we see food riders treating their customers with free food!

Christopher Wu, a Malaysian, shared his encounter with a Food Panda rider who just wanted to do something nice for Raya. In a Facebook post on 23 May, he shared that his girlfriend had ordered from Food Panda, but the rider did not have any spare change.

So the rider called Chris to ask him for his bank account number so that Chris could pay for the food. However, the rider did not get back to him.

Chris then texted the rider about the payment, but the rider refused to accept any payment and said that he wants to ‘belanja’ Chris instead and to ‘celebrate Raya with happiness’.

“I texted him just a while ago. He said don’t want. He belanja. I insisted to pay him,” Chris wrote in his post.

“He still didn’t want. I begged him as I said he works hard and he should not do this and pls do this for me.”

“He responded with… ‘Pls do this for me also. It’s Raya’.”

Chris then said that he felt a mixture of ‘slight irritation and amazement’ and said that he deserves recognition for what he did.

“? Bless you brother. I’m feeling a mixture of slight irritation and amazement at the brightness of your soul,” he wrote.

Despite that fact, a recent viral incident would seem to indicate that not everyone can acknowledge that fact readily after videos surfaced over social media showing a man assaulting a female Food Panda delivery rider after a misunderstanding.

In the 58-second long security camera clip, we can visibly see a man going after the female FoodPanda rider in the top-right corner of the screen.

Despite being slightly obscured by the date and time stamp, the man can clearly be seen getting out of his car to hit the delivery rider.

He even went as far as to attack her a second time, kicking her to the ground after she tried to avoid him by moving out of his way.

It was learned that the incident took place in Bandar Seri Puchong, Serdang, and was said to have been caused by a misunderstanding after the FoodPanda rider had tried to overtake the man when he was making a U-turn, according to Harian Metro.

However, both parties have since been called on by the police to record their statements, and the authorities are currently investigating the matter, reports The Sun.
